Our Guarantee

We offer a 1 year breeding season guarantee on all bulls sold.  We work hard to sell problem free cattle, but sometimes things out of your control, and ours, happens.  In those cases, we stand by our cattle and work with you to resolve the issue.

How We Develop:

We believe in developing our bulls on a high forage diet.  The bull diet consists of corn silage, corn, dried distillers grain, alfalfa, mineral, free choice prairie hay and free choice Flaxlic tubs.  Our fall born bulls are developed on a 75% forage ration after weaning, with an average daily gain goal of 3 lbs/day.  The winter/spring bull diet consists of a 60% forage ration, with an average daily gain goal of 3.5 lbs/day.  We work closely with our nutrition consultant to make any adjustments as necessary.  Our feeding philosophy has always been to develop our bulls on minimal grain in order to keep them in athletic, working condition.  There is nothing worse than a fat bull that won’t work because it’s hot outside.

Bull Handling:

Our bulls are developed in large groups in big open lots.  They are handled on a regular basis to get them accustomed to interaction with people.  We select AI and herd sires for docility as well.  Any bulls that show to much attitude or aggression are culled from the bull pen and not sold as breeding stock.  If there is anything worse than a bull that won’t work, it is a bull you can’t handle.  Calm cattle are better cattle.

What Our Customers Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!

“We’ve been using Rinkes bulls for over 15 years on our heifers. We look for bulls that are correct on their feet and legs, and display a lot of athleticism. We calve over 100 heifers per year and assist less than 3% of them. Additionally, we are finishing the calves and selling on a performance based grid. They are consistently gaining around 4 pounds per day and grading 95% choice or better with a high percentage qualifying for CAB.”

Gary & Derk Pfrang

Pfrang Farms | Goff, KS

“I have been using Rinkes bulls since 1995. They have added maternal power to my herd, as well as tremendous growth. Our weaning weights have continued to improve without the use of creep feed in my summer pastures. I have seen these calves gain 4+ pounds per day in the feedlot after weaning as well. Additionally, the replacement females I have retained make my herd better each year with Rinkes Genetics”.

Terry Henry

Baldwin, Kansas

“We bought our first bull from Rinkes Cattle Company in 2001. We have been tremendously pleased with the calving ease, calf vigor, and growth once they are on the ground. We have seen an improvement in our weaning weights as well as in our average daily gain in the feedlot. The Rinkes bred calves consistently out perform the calves we buy from the sale barn. We’ve been real pleased with the temperament the bulls display as well.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the sale format like?

All cattle are pre-priced and penned together by base price and available for viewing on sale day.  Bidding begins at noon on sale day and starts with the highest pre-price and work to the lowest pre-price.  If one or more buyers is interested in the same animal, we will bid that animal off in $100.00 increments.  If only one buyer is interested in the animal, it will sell at the listed price.

Is there a guarantee on the bulls?

All bulls are guaranteed for breeding soundness.  They have all passed a breeding soundness exam from a licensed vet, tested BVD-PI negative, and are current on all vaccinations.  We offer a first season breeding guarantee that covers injury or disease that would cause the bull to become incapable of breeding.
